I've been registered for a while but have so far failed to elevate my vox participation status much beyond 'secret lurker spy' levels. This is going to change.
Quite a lot has been happening in the music industry lately; Sad news about Tony Wilson. I never met the man (the closest I came was literally bumping into Hooky at Luton Airport) but from what I know about him, he was a great character and I admire his attitude and all he achieved in the music industry.
Oh yeah, the whole Prince/Daily Mail shennanigans... I actually took my girlfriend to his show at The O2 last Saturday and all I can say is that the chips were better than I expected (But what's that? No brown sauce? Eh!?) I'm sure a few of those £35 T-shirts have already surpassed what little money he would have received from what I can only assume would be modest sales of his Planet Earth album... am I right in thinking one of the tracks sounds a bit like 'Could it be Magic' by Take That!?
That Radio 1 covers compilation sounds umm.. interesting... quite intriqued by Klaxons version of No Diggity by Blackstreet, but I think Razorlight covering Sting sounds like it may breach the Geneva Convention on torture by audio. (In 2003 the naughty US government continually played Metallica and Sesame Street songs amongst others to demoralise the Iraqi troops.)
