So the CD is 25 years old today! Does anyone care? I'm quite interested in anyone's opinions on future formats, so much so, that for a time I was going to do my final year dissertation on the subject.
I've been registered for a while but have so far failed to elevate my vox participation status much beyond 'secret lurker spy' levels. This is going to change.
I (Keith) set up a little freelance gig recording business which has been a lot of fun. I get to go to some great gigs, record and mix some interesting tunes whilst having a few pints and make some friends/contacts. Some of the bands I've worked with so far include up-and-coming Scots bands such as; O.B.E, Sara & the Snakes, The Dials, Little Green Machine and The Scottish Enlightenment.
Below are a few of the recordings, if you like what you hear then check them out further.
O.B.E. - Village Idiot
Recorded Live at The Bongo Club, Edinburgh
Myspace
Extremely tight 'Disco-House Indie Funk-Punk'.
Sara & the Snakes - Eldorado
Recorded Live at Henry's Cellar Bar, Edinburgh
Myspace
Super sleazy blues/rock, with impressive female vocals.
The Scottish Enlightenment - Blue, Green and Yellow
Recorded Live at Henry's Cellar Bar, Edinburgh
Myspace
Pavementy, ramshackle indie. Complete with sweet guitar hooks and a Scottish brogue.
Futuristic Retro Champions - Oh My God
Recorded Live at The Bongo Club, Edinburgh
Myspace
Cheerful electro happy hardcore 6-piece, consisting of traditional guitar and bass but with a drum machine, 2 synths and 4-part harmonies. Oh, and a trumpet.
